HUNTINGDON MAN MATTHEW LODER FOUND GUILTY OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN PETERBOROUGH

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Huntingdon community, Matthew Loder, aged 37, has been convicted of a series of heinous sexual offences involving a young girl who was only six years old when the abuse began. The disturbing case unfolded over a period during which Loder, who was residing on Kent Road in Huntingdon at the time, managed to gain the trust of the victim's family before systematically assaulting the young girl on multiple occasions.

Despite maintaining his innocence, Loder faced a comprehensive six-day trial at Peterborough Crown Court. The prosecution presented compelling evidence, and after careful deliberation, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts. These charges included multiple rapes of a child under 13, numerous sexual assaults involving penetration, sexual touching of a child under 16, and the making of indecent images of children.

Further investigations into Loder’s activities revealed additional disturbing details. While in custody, authorities examined his mobile phone and uncovered 18 indecent images of children. The majority of these images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of abuse. This discovery added another layer of gravity to his crimes and underscored the extent of his offending.

It was also revealed that Loder had previously admitted to a separate sexual assault involving an eight-year-old child. He has been remanded in custody since January, awaiting sentencing. The court has scheduled a hearing to determine the final penalties for both sets of offences, with a provisional date set for October 13 at Huntingdon Crown Court. The sentencing will address the full scope of his criminal conduct and determine the appropriate punishment for his actions.
