BRADFORD PERVERT MATTHEW FRARY CAUGHT IN STING AT BRADFORD INTERCHANGE
In a dramatic incident that unfolded at Bradford Interchange, a man identified as Matthew Frary, aged 36 and residing in Bradford, was apprehended after attempting to meet a young girl for sexual activity.The confrontation was orchestrated by online paedophile hunters from the group Predator Exposure, who lured Frary into a sting operation on April 8.
During the incident, Frary was seen struggling fiercely as members of the group tackled him to the ground amidst a flurry of obscenities.
Witnesses reported that he was shouting, 'get the f*** off me,' as he was wrestled down by the vigilant online vigilantes.
The group had set up a trap, believing they were dealing with a predator, and their efforts culminated in capturing Frary attempting to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for sex.
In reality, the girl was an adult who had been posing online as a minor to catch individuals like Frary.
The footage from the sting shows Frary, dressed in a grey Nike hoodie, desperately trying to resist his captors.
He is seen grabbing at their arms and protesting that he is under citizen's arrest, all while attempting to hide his face with his hood when he notices the camera filming the incident.
His distress escalates as he begins banging his head against the concrete pavement, prompting a member of the public to intervene and prevent him from harming himself further.
The group then placed a coat beneath his head to prevent injury and began questioning him about his intentions.
Frary, visibly angry, vehemently denied any plans to meet a child for sexual purposes, claiming instead that he was there to meet his girlfriend.
He was heard saying, 'Listen, I’m asthmatic.
Get off me, I can’t f****** breathe.
I’ve got f****** asthma.' The leader of the group firmly told him, 'You’re not going anywhere.
You’re going to be arrested by the police.' Frary, in a state of panic, called out to bystanders, shouting, 'Get the police.
These are assaulting me.' However, one of the group members responded sharply, 'No, you came to rape a child.' As the situation escalated, Frary was forcibly escorted towards the station exit, closely followed by railway security personnel.
During the walk, he attempted to grab the camera of a woman filming the incident and snarled, 'You think you’re clever ’cause you’re stood there with a f****** video.
You’re playing a game, you’re playing as a kid.' Outside the station, further chaos ensued as the group accused Frary of trying to delete messages from his phone and attempted to seize his device.
In the struggle, Frary grabbed hold of one of the men and was pushed to the ground, screaming in distress until police officers arrived and took him into custody in handcuffs.
Following his arrest, Frary appeared before Bradford Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was subsequently sentenced to 27 months in prison.
Frary, who has no fixed address, initially denied the charges but changed his plea prior to the trial.
In a separate incident dating back to November 2009, Frary, then 27, was jailed for 18 months after assaulting a woman in Bootham, York.
The victim believed she was about to be raped when Frary, a dog walker at the time, grabbed her while she was waiting for her husband.
The attack left her traumatized, and she sought medical help.
Judge Scott Wolstenholme described the assault as frightening and devastating for the victim, emphasizing that Frary’s actions were unprovoked aggression against a defenseless woman.
Frary’s prior criminal record included a three-and-a-half-year sentence in 2004 for attempting to rob a chef outside Totos in Fawcett Street, York.
On that occasion, the victim was in York with a family friend, and Frary approached her late at night, asking, 'What is a nice girl like you doing here?' before assaulting her.
Police had previously identified Frary through CCTV footage and DNA evidence, linking him to the crime.
These incidents highlight a pattern of concerning behavior by Matthew Frary, whose actions have caused significant distress and legal repercussions in Bradford and York.
