MATTHEW CHEVEAUX FROM ST HELENS ADMITS TO CHILD ABUSE IMAGE CHARGES AT CROWN COURT

In a case that has drawn significant attention in the local community of St Helens, Matthew Daniel Cheveaux, aged 22, has admitted to possessing and creating indecent images of children. The charges against him include a total of 16 counts related to child abuse images, which encompass both the creation and possession of such material.

The allegations stem from incidents that occurred on May 17 of the previous year, during which Cheveaux was found to be in possession of six indecent photographs and 23 videos. These images and videos are categorized on a scale from category one to four, with category five representing the most extreme forms of child abuse material. Cheveaux faces 14 counts of making indecent photographs and videos, alongside two counts of possessing the aforementioned indecent images and videos.

Legal proceedings took place at the magistrates' court in St Helens, where Cheveaux was granted conditional bail. The case has been scheduled for further hearing at Liverpool Crown Court in March, where he is expected to formally enter a plea.
