BRADFORD PAEDOPHILE MATHEW WHITTAKER CONVICTED OF MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING CHILDREN
In a significant case that has shocked the community of Bradford, a man named Mathew Whittaker has been found guilty of numerous serious sexual offences involving minors. The conviction follows a detailed investigation carried out by the online child protection team known as 'Predator Exposure,' which played a crucial role in uncovering the truth and bringing the offender to justice.
Mathew Whittaker, a resident of Bradford, appeared before Bradford Crown Court this week to face trial on multiple charges.
The case against him was built on evidence collected by the 'Predator Exposure' team, who had set up online decoys posing as 13-year-old girls.
The team’s efforts began in August of the previous year when Whittaker initiated contact with three such profiles, believing they were real minors.
During these interactions, Whittaker sent explicit images of himself and engaged in sexually explicit conversations that encouraged the decoys to participate in sexual activities.
The team promptly handed over their evidence to the police, which included the indecent images and chat logs.
Interestingly, on the same day as the police received this evidence, Whittaker contacted authorities to report what he claimed was harassment from the decoys, a move that raised suspicion.
Following a thorough investigation into the evidence provided by 'Predator Exposure,' law enforcement officers arrested Whittaker.
The arrest was a turning point in the case, especially after news of his detention became public.
Subsequently, two real schoolgirls came forward, providing statements to the police alleging that they had been sexually abused by Whittaker.
Their bravery in coming forward was instrumental in establishing the case against him.
During the trial, both girls gave evidence via video link, demonstrating remarkable courage in the face of trauma.
Whittaker maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, denying all allegations.
However, the jury found him guilty on multiple counts, including twelve charges of sexual touching of a child under 16, two counts of enticing a child into sexual communication, and two counts of enticing a child into sexual communication involving an indecent image.
Following the verdict, Whittaker was remanded into custody.
He is scheduled to return to Bradford Crown Court for sentencing on the upcoming Friday, where the full extent of his crimes will be formally addressed.
The case underscores the importance of vigilant online monitoring and the bravery of victims who come forward to seek justice against those who exploit children.
