November 2013 Father-of-two admits downloading indecent images of children A FATHER-of-two was being divorced by his wife after he was arrested for downloading pornographic images of young children, Southampton Crown Court heard. Martin Roche admitted to police when they called at his then home in Greatwood Close, Hythe: “Yes, I have been looking at some.” Prosecutor Jodie Mittell said he had downloaded more than 700 images onto a laptop on eight occasions between September 2012 and January 2013 but there was no evidence that he had distributed them. Roche, 50, now of Gosport Lane, Lyndhurst, admitted 13 charges of making indecent images. He received a three-year community order, with a condition he attends an Internet sex offenders’ treatment programme, and a five-year sex offenders’ prevention order. He was also placed on the sex offenders’ register. In mitigation, Susan Ridge said: “His life has fallen apart and he is trying to come to terms with what he has done.”
