January 2018 Pervert, 44, downloaded indecent images of children and pretended to be a teenage girl online Pervert Martin Humphrey downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children – and pretended to be a teenage girl online. The 44-year-old was arrested after police executed a warrant at his Knypersley home last summer and seized his laptop and two memory cards. They were analysed and contained five indecent images at category A – the most serious; five at category B; and 306 at category C. The defendant accepted downloading the material which included children aged eight to 10 and admitted to police that he had attempted to engage in communications of a sexual nature with children. Now Humphrey has been sentenced to a three-year community order – which includes completing a programme to address his sexual offending – because the judge believes he needs treatment. Humphrey is also now subject to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same period.
