INVERNESS MAN MARTIN ANDERSON CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AT HIS HOME
Inverness resident Martin Anderson, aged 31, from Leachkin Brae, appeared before Inverness Sheriff Court this week to face charges related to the possession of indecent images of children.Anderson admitted to the offence, which took place at his residence between October 5, 2019, and June 30, 2020.
The court was informed that a police raid on Anderson's home uncovered a total of 80 images depicting young individuals aged between 10 and 15 years old.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that all the images found were classified at the lowest end of the obscenity scale, with no evidence suggesting any images contained sexual activity.
Prosecutor Karen Poke explained to the court that the images did not include explicit sexual content, but their possession still constitutes a serious offence.
The court heard that the investigation was initiated after police executed a search warrant at Anderson’s Inverness address, leading to the seizure of the digital material containing the images.
The case has been adjourned for a background report to be prepared, which will inform the sentencing process.
Sheriff Robert Frazer ordered that Anderson return to court on September 29 for sentencing, after which a final decision will be made regarding the penalty for his actions.
Anderson’s guilty plea and the nature of the images are expected to influence the severity of the sentence handed down.
