MAJID HUSSAIN FROM OLDHAM SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ATTACKS ON MOTHER AND CHILDREN

In a harrowing case that has left a community in Oldham deeply shaken, Majid Hussain, aged 39, has been sentenced to an indefinite term of imprisonment following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual offenses. The crimes involved a 34-year-old mother and her three young children, two girls and a boy, who endured terrifying and degrading assaults at the hands of Hussain.

Hussain's actions were characterized by extreme brutality and intimidation. During the trial at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester, it was revealed that he had threatened to kill his victims if they dared to report his crimes. One of the victims was forced to carry out sexual acts at knifepoint, a chilling detail that underscored the level of threat and coercion used to silence them.

The court heard that Hussain not only assaulted the mother and her children but also subjected the children to repeated sexual abuse, forcing them into acts that have left lasting scars. Disturbingly, he also compelled the children to witness him engaging in sexual acts with their mother, an act that has inflicted profound psychological trauma.

Following the assaults, the victims have been plagued by severe nightmares and ongoing emotional distress. The youngest girl is now afraid to go to the bathroom alone, and the boy has confided that he feels safest only when with his pet dog, highlighting the deep psychological impact of Hussain’s crimes.

Hussain denied all charges, forcing the victims to testify against him in court. Despite his denials, the jury found him guilty of rape, intimidation, and indecent assault. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to register on the Sex Offender’s Register for life and was given a minimum term of nine and a half years before he can be considered for parole.

Judge Timothy Mort delivered a stern judgment, describing Hussain as a man who worked in the community but also as a profoundly demonic individual. The judge emphasized the lasting damage caused by Hussain’s actions, stating, “The jury, as with me, are left with the lasting memory of those children clutching their teddy bears, speaking in quiet monotone about what you did. You are a man who worked — you are also a man who was very demonic.”

He further expressed concern about the risk Hussain poses to the public, noting that he has no insight into the difference between right and wrong sexually and that there is an “enhanced risk” of further offenses. The court made it clear that Hussain would not be considered for release until he is deemed no longer dangerous.

Detective Constable Louise McWalters commented on the case, stating, “This man has shown no remorse for what he did. He has left a woman and three young children physically and mentally traumatised. I would like to thank all the victims for their bravery in coming forward and giving evidence as it is them who put this evil man behind bars. No sentence can ever be enough to punish a man who would do such a vile thing. However, the substantial custodial sentence given will hopefully go some way to finding justice. I hope this case has shown there is a way out for those who are in a similar situation to that of the victims in this case.”
