WAYNE STOTT PERVERT FROM ECCLES AND OLDHAM BANNED FROM SALFORD FOR PICTURED SCHOOLGIRLS
In August 2013, a disturbing case emerged involving Wayne Stott, a 40-year-old man from Oldham, who engaged in highly inappropriate and illegal behavior targeting young girls in the Salford area.The incident came to light after a brave 16-year-old girl, who was walking to school near a Salford educational institution, noticed Stott acting suspiciously.
She observed him taking multiple photographs of girls as they made their way to school and promptly contacted her father.
Her father responded swiftly, rushing to the scene and confronting Stott.
A physical altercation ensued during which he detained the man, effectively preventing him from continuing his predatory behavior.
This brave intervention led to Stott’s arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.
As a result of the incident, Stott was issued a comprehensive ban from the entire city of Salford, prohibiting him from entering the area or taking any photographs for a period of two years.
Further investigations revealed that police had discovered additional incriminating evidence on Stott’s mobile phone.
Officers found 19 more photographs depicting young girls, along with a pair of girls’ knickers, which further underscored the severity of his misconduct.
The police report highlighted the disturbing nature of his actions, which targeted girls aged between 13 and 15 years old.
During the court hearing at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Gareth Hughes detailed the extent of Stott’s offenses.
The judge, Jonathon Finestein, described Stott’s behavior as ‘deplorable’ and emphasized the seriousness of the case.
He stated, “This is very serious – you invaded the privacy of young girls aged between 13 and 15.
On finding out what you had done, many of them became distressed and frightened.” Judge Finestein also commented on Stott’s psychological state, noting his ‘unhealthy sexual concern for girls’ and stressing the need for intervention to prevent any future incidents.
Stott, who resides on Lyndon Croft in Oldham, pleaded guilty to charges of outraging public decency committed in Eccles between February and June of that year.
The court sentenced him to a two-year supervision order, which includes mandatory attendance at a sex offenders’ group program.
Stott’s defense attorney, Kathy Mulhearn, acknowledged her client’s need for treatment, stating, “He has a fetish for young girls and has shown incredible honesty.” The judge acknowledged that several of the girls had expressed concern upon discovering Stott’s actions but clarified that there was no evidence suggesting they were stalked or that their images would be shared online.
In addition to the supervision order, Stott was ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £60 surcharge, marking a significant legal response to his disturbing conduct.
