TEEN FACES STALKING TRIAL AS SECOND ALLEGED VICTIM COMES FORWARD
An 18-year-old from Galashiels is due to stand trial after pleading not guilty to stalking allegations involving a 17-year-old girl.Maciej Baranski, 18, is accused of stalking a teenage girl on roads in Selkirk between January 1 last year and February 10 this year.
The case first called at Selkirk Sheriff Court, where it was continued without plea on two occasions before Baranski later entered a not guilty plea.
The trial is now scheduled to begin on 18 August.
It has also been reported that a second 17-year-old girl has since come forward, resulting in further allegations being investigated as the case progresses through the courts.
The allegations have not been proven, and Baranski denies the charge currently before the court.
He is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty.
The case is expected to be heard at trial in August.
