MAN JAILED FOR SIX CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A 37-year-old man from Higham Ferrers has been sentenced to prison after confessing to six different child sex offenses.Between late 2022 and early 2023, Luke Anthony Hemmington utilized the messaging app Kik to communicate with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
During their conversations, he sent her multiple pornographic videos.
In January 2025, Hemmington contacted what he thought was a 14-year-old girl through the same platform.
He shared several explicit videos and spoke openly about previous sexual encounters, expressing a desire to engage in sexual acts with her.
Unbeknownst to Hemmington, both of these individuals were actually undercover police officers.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of attempting to communicate sexually with a child and three counts of trying to induce a child to view sexual acts.
Having pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court in August, Hemmington was sentenced on October 23 to three years and one month in prison.
PC Holly Morgan-Humphrey of the Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “I am really pleased to see Luke Hemmington sent to prison and I would like to thank DC Abi Jones who worked on this investigation alongside myself.
Together we have put a very predatory individual behind bars.
“In the POLIT, we are very passionate about protecting and safeguarding our children in this county and as you can see from this case, we use proactive methods to bring offenders to justice.”
