Damien Robb, from The Hedges in Higham Ferrers, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday, June 19, where he admitted to charges including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor, trying to incite a girl into sexual activity, and possessing images depicting sex with an animal.
The court was informed that Robb initiated contact with a person on Facebook in June 2023.
The girl revealed she was only 14, prompting him to end the conversation, stating she was 'too young.' However, he resumed communication the next day, engaging in sexually suggestive conversations with her.
During the exchange, he sent pictures of his partially clothed, aroused genitals and asked the girl to send images back.
Robb also asked her to masturbate.
When he was detained, authorities examined his phone and discovered a picture involving sexual intercourse with a frog.
The chat history with the girl, however, had been deleted.
The court noted that Robb had no prior convictions.
During mitigation, lawyer Nathalie Carter expressed Robb’s feelings of 'deep shame and disgust' upon himself, and highlighted his recent ADHD diagnosis.
She added that he appeared very young for his age.
Robb received an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
He is also required to undergo six months of mental health treatment, complete 53 days of rehabilitation activities, and pay a surcharge of £187.
Additionally, he was issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, and must register as a sex offender for the same period.
