LOGAN SMITH FROM KIRKCALDY FOUND GUILTY OF DOMESTIC ABUSE IN SHOCKING CASE

Logan Smith, aged 23 and residing in Kirkcaldy, has been convicted on two counts of actual bodily harm under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act after a comprehensive seven-day trial held at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court. The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about Smith’s prolonged pattern of violence and coercive control directed at two women, with the first victim subjected to over 18 months of relentless physical and emotional abuse.

According to court testimonies, Smith’s abusive conduct included repeated physical assaults, attempts at strangulation and suffocation, and actions so severe that they resulted in permanent disfigurement for the first woman. The court heard how these acts were part of a sustained campaign aimed at exerting dominance and control over her, causing significant physical and psychological trauma.

In a separate but equally troubling case, Smith was found to have engaged in similar abusive behaviors towards a second female victim. This included acts of actual bodily harm, strangulation, coercive control, and repeated physical and emotional assaults. Additionally, financial abuse was also part of his pattern of coercion, further complicating the victims’ suffering.

Both women provided detailed statements to the court, describing the profound and lasting impact Smith’s actions have had on their mental health. They reported suffering from severe anxiety and ongoing psychological issues as a direct result of the abuse they endured.

Despite the gravity of the charges, Smith has been released on bail while awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for May 6th.
