WOMAN JAILED FOR STALKING EX-BOYFRIEND, LEADING HIM TO MOVE COUNTRY
A woman responsible for organising harassment campaigns against her former partner and a woman she suspected to be his new girlfriend received a four-year prison sentence in the United Kingdom.Lina Tantash, aged 44, was given her sentence by Lewes Crown Court after being convicted at a trial that took place at Brighton Magistrates Court in September.
The evidence presented showed that she made hundreds of phone calls to her ex-boyfriend almost daily over the course of nearly a year, in addition to numerous text messages.
She often claimed to be in Brighton and requested meetings with him.
Her behavior escalated to more aggressive actions, including hiring a private detective, attempting to damage his professional reputation, attending his workplace uninvited, and even threatening to kill him.
Tantash also targeted a woman she thought was her ex-boyfriend’s new partner by sending abusive emails, harassing her with threatening phone calls during working hours, and ordering large quantities of food to her workplace under her name.
She was found guilty of two stalking-related charges.
