LEWIS JAMES ALLAN FROM NEWCASTLE AND SHETLAND SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AT TRACH NIGHTCLUB

A man from Newcastle upon Tyne, Lewis James Allan, has been sentenced following a sexual assault incident that occurred at the Trench nightclub. The incident took place on the 29th of July this year, during a busy night at the popular venue. Allan, who is also associated with Shetland, was found guilty of inappropriate and criminal behavior towards a female patron.

According to court reports, Procurator Fiscal Duncan Mackenzie detailed the events leading to Allan’s conviction. It was revealed that Allan approached the woman on the dancefloor, asking her to dance. While engaged in this interaction, he held her hand and then proceeded to inappropriately touch her, grabbing her genitals through her clothing. The incident happened in the middle of a crowded dancefloor, making it a particularly distressing event for the victim.

During the court hearing, defence solicitor Tommy Allan expressed remorse on behalf of his client, stating that Lewis James Allan, aged 35, was mortified by his actions. The solicitor emphasized that the incident was out of character and occurred in a moment of poor judgment amidst a lively nightclub environment.

As part of his sentence, Allan has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of supervision lasting one year. Additionally, he has been ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid community work. The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of the offense and the importance of monitoring individuals convicted of sexual misconduct to protect the community.

Allan’s residence is listed as Rosehill Way, and his case highlights ongoing concerns about safety and conduct in nightlife venues across Newcastle upon Tyne and beyond.
