CHRISTOPHER READINGS SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN SHETLAND
A man identified as Christopher Readings, aged 44 and originally from Clifton Hampden, Oxfordshire, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of serious sexual offenses committed in Shetland.The crimes involved acts of sexual assault against two minors, a girl and a boy, which took place over a span of two years, from 2008 to 2010.
Readings was brought before the High Court in Edinburgh, where a jury at the High Court in Aberdeen found him guilty of six separate charges.
These charges encompassed a range of serious sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, attempted rape, and lewd practices.
The court proceedings revealed the gravity of the offenses and the impact they likely had on the victims.
During the sentencing hearing, Readings' defense QC, Bill Taylor, addressed the court, emphasizing that his client maintained his innocence and continued to deny the allegations.
