TELFORD RAPIST SENTENCED TO LIFE AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK
A convicted rapist named Lehmann O'Driscoll has been sentenced to life imprisonment after carrying out a brutal sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl.
The attack occurred late at night when O'Driscoll followed the victim, dragged her into woods at knifepoint, and threatened her with a weapon.
He then proceeded to rape her three times, stole her mobile phone, and left her naked, humiliated, and frightened.
O'Driscoll, aged 32, had previously served four years for the rape of a 19-year-old man and was released in February 1998.
During his latest trial at Stafford Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to multiple charges including the rape, indecent assaults, kidnap, possessing a knife, and theft.
The judge described his actions as predatory, determined, and brutal, emphasizing that this was his second conviction for rape within six years.
The victim was a stranger, whom he stalked for over a mile before attacking her.
The case was prosecuted by Nicholas Webb, and O'Driscoll was sentenced by Judge Desmond Perrett QC, who stated that the severity of his crimes warranted a life sentence.
Outside the court, Detective Sergeant Gordon Dolan condemned the attack as terrifying and brutal.
