‘FAMILY MAN’ JAILED FOR SEX ASSAULT AND DRUG OFFER
2013 - A man described as a "decent family man" has been sentenced to prison after he supplied Class A drugs to a teenage girl and subsequently sexually assaulted her.
According to Teesside Crown Court, Lee Vaughan carried out these acts during a Bonfire Night celebration last year while under the influence of cocaine.
The 36-year-old resident of Lowmead Walk, Park End, Middlesbrough, offered cocaine to a 16-year-old girl, who was advised by an older friend not to take the drug.
Later that evening, Vaughan entered the room where the girl was sleeping and inappropriately touched her.
Although Vaughan denied the charges, a jury found him guilty of offering to supply a Class A drug and sexual assault.
Judge Peter Armstrong remarked that Vaughan's behavior was out of character and decided he did not need a sexual offences prevention order, sentencing him to two years in prison.
