LEE MICHAEL FROM WIRRAL: CHILD KILLER AND ANIMAL ABUSER NOW IN LONDON WITH NEW IDENTITY

Lee Michael, a man with a disturbing history of violence and cruelty, has been the subject of multiple criminal convictions and unsettling incidents in the Wirral area. Born on January 27, 1981, he has also gone by the names Lee Khair and Neo Lee Allen, and more recently, Lee O'Shaughnessy. His criminal activities span from animal abuse to the tragic death of his own child, revealing a pattern of violent behavior that has shocked the local community and beyond.

In September 2015, Lee Michael was convicted and sentenced for heinous acts of cruelty against animals. The case involved two specific incidents: the brutal attack on a small pug puppy named Babs and the abuse of a grey male cat called Larry. The RSPCA, upon investigation, found Babs in a state of extreme distress, trembling and withdrawn in her kennel. Her face and eye were severely swollen, and X-ray scans revealed that she had suffered a significant injury— a piece of her jaw, approximately the size of a five-pence coin, was missing. There was also a suspected fracture to her skull, indicating the severity of her injuries.

Following her rescue, Babs, who was later renamed Ruby, underwent emergency surgery to screw her jaw back into place. Initially, veterinarians feared she might never be able to eat again due to the extent of her injuries. Lee Michael had claimed that the injuries to the dog resulted from her falling from his bed while he was asleep. However, veterinary reports contradicted his account, indicating that the injuries were far more serious than could have been caused by a simple fall.

The cruelty did not stop there. The court heard that Michael had also pulled Larry, the cat, from his hiding spot behind a fridge by his tail, causing the animal to soil himself in fear. In a further act of brutality, Michael turned on the shower and directed it at Larry, who subsequently died two days later. Despite the cat’s death, Larry’s body was never recovered, leaving a lingering sense of unresolved tragedy.

During sentencing, the district judge described Michael as “one of the most dangerous men in relation to animals I’ve ever come across.” Babs, now known as Ruby, made a full physical recovery, with only a slight off-centre scar on her jaw serving as a reminder of her ordeal. RSPCA Inspector Anthony Joynes described the case as involving “stomach-churning” cruelty, emphasizing the severity of Michael’s actions.

Joynes also expressed concern that the case was only the tip of the iceberg, suggesting that the full extent of Michael’s cruelty might never be fully known. Nevertheless, he expressed pride in rescuing Ruby, who is now in a loving new home, receiving the care and attention she deserves.

Adding to the gravity of his criminal record, it was revealed that Lee Michael, then known as Lee Khair, had previously been sentenced to seven years in prison for the tragic death of his two-year-old son, Ryan Franklin-Khair, in 2002. The Winchester Crown Court heard that the young child had sustained a brain injury and numerous bruises while under Michael’s care at his then-girlfriend Catherine Franklin’s house in Dorset. Michael claimed he had woken at 5:30 a.m. to find Ryan at the bottom of a staircase and attempted to revive him by placing him in the recovery position. Despite efforts, Ryan was taken to Southampton General Hospital but never regained consciousness, passing away days later.

The court found that Michael had lied about the circumstances, claiming the child had fallen down the stairs. The jury convicted him of causing his son’s death, and he served three years of a seven-year sentence. He was subsequently released, with a court order banning him from keeping animals for life, and was ordered to pay costs amounting to £2,424. His sentencing included a 24-week jail term, followed by 12 months of probation.

As of 2019, Lee Michael was working as a self-employed Pilates instructor under the business name ‘Matrix Fitness’ in London. Recent updates from November 2023 reveal that he now goes by the name Lee O'Shaughnessy. He has obtained an HGV Class 2 driving license with the support of Veterans into Logistics, a non-profit organization based in Heywood, Greater Manchester. Additionally, he is an amateur musician, having performed with an acoustic guitar at open mic events in Altrincham, Oldham, and other locations. Despite his criminal past, he appears to have moved on to a different life, though his history of violence and cruelty remains a stark reminder of his troubled background.
