ABERGAVENNY PAEDOPHILE LEE HOLLAND JAILED FOR SPYING ON TEENAGE GIRLS IN ABERGAVENNY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Abergavenny, Lee Holland, a 54-year-old civil engineer, has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after being found guilty of a series of heinous offences involving the voyeuristic surveillance of underage girls. The court proceedings revealed the extent of Holland's disturbing actions, which included secretly installing a hidden camera in a lavatory to record young females for his own sexual gratification.Holland, who resides on Holywell Road East in Abergavenny, was brought before Cardiff Crown Court where the severity of his crimes was laid bare. Prosecutor Jenny Yeo detailed how Holland had used a small spy camera to capture footage of teenage girls in private settings, including a particularly troubling incident at the Abergavenny Leisure Centre, where he used his iPhone to record a young girl undressing in a changing room. This act of voyeurism was part of a broader pattern of predatory behavior that the authorities uncovered during their investigation.
The police executed a search warrant at Holland’s home in December 2019, which he shares with his wife. During the raid, officers discovered a collection of child sex abuse videos and images stored on a desktop computer. Some of these images depicted victims as young as seven years old, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material he possessed. Further analysis of these files revealed recordings made by Holland himself, which included footage of his victims in private moments.
Holland pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of voyeurism, five counts of observing a person engaged in a private act, and three counts of making indecent images of a child. The images ranged from the most severe Category A to Category C, with 4 Category A, 12 Category B, and a staggering 196 Category C images.
During the sentencing hearing, Karl Williams, representing Holland, acknowledged the gravity of the offences, describing them as “disgusting.” He emphasized that Holland had no previous convictions and expressed remorse, stating that his client wished to apologize to his victims and appeared sincere in his regret. Williams also highlighted Holland’s professional background as an expert in bridge surveying, earning approximately £49,000 annually, and his involvement in community work supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
However, Judge Michael Fitton QC was unequivocal in his condemnation. He told Holland that his own legal counsel had described his crimes as “shocking and disgusting,” and criticized his denial about being a paedophile. The judge pointed out that Holland had become addicted to pornography and chat lines, which contributed to his attraction to young females. As part of his sentence, Holland will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order, aimed at protecting the community from further harm.
