LEE DICKENS FROM UPPER NORWOOD SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND ASSAULT IN EARLY 2000S

Lee Dickens, aged 39 and originally from Norwich, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following his conviction for grooming and indecent assault involving a young girl. The incidents took place during the early 2000s, a period during which Dickens engaged in inappropriate and illegal conduct with a girl aged between 14 and 16 years old.

During the court proceedings, Dickens admitted to having a sexual relationship with the girl when she was just 14 years old. He claimed that the relationship was consensual once she reached the age of sixteen, a statement that the court found deeply troubling given the circumstances and the age difference at the time of the initial contact.

The judge overseeing the case emphasized the gravity of Dickens' actions, highlighting the breach of trust and the serious nature of the offences committed.
