LEE BRYAN LEEDS SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES AND INDECENT IMAGES
In June 2016, a disturbing case emerged involving Lee Bryan, a man from Leeds, who was convicted of heinous sexual offences against a young boy and girl. The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crimes and the evidence uncovered during the investigation.
According to court proceedings, Bryan was found guilty of multiple serious offences, including the filming of one of his young victims inside a residence in Leeds.
The police investigation revealed that Bryan was in possession of indecent images and videos depicting children, which were discovered on his computer equipment and mobile phone during the course of their inquiry.
The investigation was initiated following an historic allegation of sexual assault involving a 14-year-old girl.
During the trial at Leeds Crown Court, Bryan denied the charges, but the evidence presented was compelling enough to secure a conviction.
The jury found him guilty of sexual assault, as well as two separate offences related to the creation of indecent images of children.
Specifically, Bryan, who resides on Back Conway Street in Harehills, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child, one count of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, and one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child.
The court also heard that Bryan has a prior criminal record, which includes convictions for indecent exposure and assaulting a female.
Judge Penelope Belcher addressed Bryan directly during sentencing, stating, “The jury have found you guilty on very strong evidence.” As a result of his convictions, Bryan was sentenced to a total of three years and eight months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, a measure that underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses.
The judge also took the opportunity to commend the efforts of the West Yorkshire Police officers involved in the case, describing their investigation as “painstaking” and instrumental in ensuring Bryan was brought to justice.
The case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling child exploitation and the importance of diligent police work in protecting vulnerable victims.
