LAURENCE GLADWIN'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN YORKSHIRE: SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TEENAGE GIRLS
A man from Yorkshire, Laurence Gladwin, has been convicted of a series of disturbing sexual offences involving two teenage girls over a span of approximately 18 months.The case, heard at Hull Crown Court, revealed a pattern of predatory behavior driven by a disturbing sexual interest in adolescent females, which Gladwin cynically exploited for his own gratification.
Initially, Gladwin engaged the girls through friendly banter, creating a false sense of trust and familiarity.
However, this seemingly innocent interaction quickly escalated into more sinister exchanges.
He began sending messages to the girls, which soon turned into explicit communications.
The court heard that the situation deteriorated further when Gladwin had sexual encounters with one of the girls in his car, and also engaged in sexual acts with the other girl in the same vehicle.
In addition to these acts, Gladwin encouraged the girls to send him intimate photographs of themselves.
The court was shown evidence of a video he sent, depicting him performing a sex act, which he had recorded himself.
These actions constitute serious criminal offenses, including sexual activity with a minor while in a position of trust, and the creation and distribution of indecent images of children.
Prosecutor Robert Stevenson outlined that Gladwin was the initiator of contact with the girls, and his interactions quickly progressed from casual conversations to physical meetings.
He described how Gladwin kissed one girl and repeatedly touched her inappropriately, as well as forcing her to perform a sex act on him.
The girl later expressed that she felt overwhelmed and pressured into these acts, which began with innocent banter but soon involved frequent messaging and clandestine meetings in secluded areas of a public car park.
