LEEDS PENSIONER LADISLAV GECI SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY
In a serious case that has shocked the Leeds community, pensioner Ladislav Geci, aged 68, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of possessing and creating highly illegal and disturbing images involving children and animals.The offences came to light following a police operation at his residence in the Gipton area of Leeds, where authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent material stored on his personal computers.
On June 9 of this year, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Geci’s home on St Wilfrids Crescent.
During the raid, they seized multiple electronic devices, including computers and a memory card, which were subsequently subjected to detailed forensic analysis.
The investigation revealed that Geci had stored a total of 20 videos classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of child abuse material.
Additionally, investigators found 110 still images depicting bestiality, a form of extreme pornography involving animals.
Further examination uncovered that Geci had installed file-sharing software on his devices, suggesting an intent to distribute the illicit content to others.
It is believed that these activities spanned over a period of more than two years, highlighting a sustained pattern of offending.
Duncan Ritchie, the prosecutor, outlined these findings to the court, emphasizing the seriousness of the case.
Geci pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent images of children, possession of indecent photographs with the intent to distribute, and possession of extreme pornographic images.
Despite having no previous convictions in the UK, it was revealed that Geci had committed similar offences in the Czech Republic, his country of origin.
During the court proceedings, John Bottomley, representing the defendant, acknowledged Geci’s early guilty plea and noted that he had been living in the UK since 1999 with his wife.
Both Geci and his wife are reported to be in poor health, and his legal representative expressed concern about his mental and physical state, stating, “He is struggling to come to terms with his offending.” Judge Guy Kearl, QC, sentenced Geci to four months in prison.
The judge also recommended that the Home Office consider deportation upon his release, given the nature of his crimes.
In his sentencing remarks, Judge Kearl emphasized the broader impact of such offences, stating, “You and others who view and distribute indecent images and movies involving the physical and sexual abuse of children create the market.
Without you and people like you, the market would not exist.” This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution of such heinous material and protect vulnerable victims from exploitation.
