KYLE STEPHENSON'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN FILEY: PAEDOPHILE AND ANIMAL ABUSER SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS
In a disturbing series of crimes committed in and around the seaside town of Filey, Kyle Stephenson, aged 29, has been convicted of multiple heinous offenses that have shocked the local community and the wider region of Yorkshire. The offences include the sexual abuse of minors as well as the shocking act of bestiality involving a dog, which has since passed away due to illness.Stephenson’s criminal activities came to light after a police investigation was initiated following a complaint from a young boy. The authorities arrested him on January 31, 2021, and he has remained in custody ever since. The investigation revealed that the crimes occurred over a period extending from the time of the complaint up until January 2020, covering nearly a year of disturbing activity.
During the court proceedings at York Crown Court, which took place on Friday, July 16, 2021, Stephenson chose to plead guilty to the charges related to the sexual assault of the boy and the girl he incited to engage in sexual acts. This decision to admit guilt spared the court the need for a lengthy trial. However, the most shocking aspect of his crimes was the filming of himself engaging in sexual intercourse with a dog, an act of bestiality that was conclusively proven through video evidence recovered by police.
The judge, recognizing the severity and depravity of these acts, sentenced Stephenson to a total of 18 years in prison. In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his contact with minors and limits his activities to prevent further harm. Stephenson was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. Furthermore, he is required to serve an additional year on licence after his release, during which he will be subject to strict supervision.
Tragically, the dog involved in the bestiality incident has since died from an illness, adding a further layer of sorrow to this already tragic case. The case has garnered significant attention in Filey and the wider Yorkshire area, highlighting the importance of vigilance and swift law enforcement response to such disturbing crimes.
