MAN WHO SEXUALLY ABUSED TWO GIRLS AND A BOY JAILED FOR 20 YEARS
37-year-old David Peter Chamberlain, resident of Selby, was found guilty of 19 criminal offences following a trial that lasted two weeks at York Crown Court.
On the day of sentencing, June 23, he was placed under a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will continue to be included on the Sex Offenders Register.
The allegations came to light in July last year after a teenage girl accused him of sexually abusing her from December 2020 through June 2022.
Further victims, including another girl and a boy, also reported abuse during that period.
After detailed investigations carried out by the CID teams from Scarborough and Ryedale, detectives charged Chamberlain with 20 offences, comprising five counts of rape, six counts of sexual assault, eight counts of sexual activity with a minor, and one of child cruelty.
He was convicted on 19 counts, with one rape charge resulting in a not guilty verdict at trial.
