KRISTOFER MCLAREN AND CRAIG WHITELAW SENTENCED IN YORKSHIRE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE OUTSIDE NORTHALLERTON NIGHTCLUB
Two young men, Kristofer McLaren and Craig Whitelaw, both aged 21, have been sentenced to nine years in prison following a brutal sexual assault outside a nightclub in Northallerton, Yorkshire. The incident occurred on the 10th of August, when the two men attacked an 18-year-old woman after she met them at Club Amadeus, located on Elder Road.
Details emerging from the Teesside Crown Court reveal that after the assault, McLaren and Whitelaw brazenly boasted about their actions to a taxi driver, displaying a disturbing lack of remorse.
Witnesses and police reports indicate that the men treated the victim with extreme contempt, describing her in degrading terms and subjecting her to a sustained attack.
Both men, originating from Thirsk, did not deny their involvement but were found guilty of the charge of rape following a trial.
However, they were acquitted of a second count of rape.
Craig Whitelaw faced additional charges and was convicted of sexual assault; for this, he received a concurrent sentence of four years imprisonment.
Det Insp Fiona Wynne of North Yorkshire Police expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the severity of the attack.
She stated, "I am delighted that justice has been delivered for the victim.
She was subjected to a sustained attack by McLaren and Whitelaw.
They treated her like a piece of meat and left her bleeding and distressed.
They laughed and joked about it afterwards, even boasting to the taxi driver about what had just happened when they left the scene." The victim’s parents also voiced their gratitude towards law enforcement, saying, "From the minute the police picked our daughter up she has been treated with the utmost respect and sympathy by everyone who has had contact with her." This case highlights the seriousness with which such violations are prosecuted in Yorkshire, and the community’s demand for justice and safety for all its residents.
