December 2011 Jail for Wirral child groomer Kristian Timmerman A PAEDOPHILE who travelled from Holland to the home of a 12-year-old girl in Wirral was jailed for 22 months for grooming. Over a period of months Kristian Timmerman, 32, used social networking sites to gain the trust of his victim, posting cartoons on You Tube and striking up conversations on Facebook. She thought she was talking with someone her own age but she was actually engaging with Timmerman who had an “unhealthy and unnatural” fetish to dress up as a wolf and perform depraved sex acts. Prosecutor Ray Herman told Warrington Crown Court that Timmerman created a character with the girl’s name in the company of a wolf named Humphrey. He said: “The defendant’s username on the website was Humphrey. The grooming was subtle, he said nothing directly sexual to her and there was nothing sexual in the cartoons. “But grooming it was. He told her she was beautiful and he loved her. They were wholly inappropriate comments from a man to a girl of that age.” Timmerman also told the girl she would inherit a 100,000 euros (£84,000) life insurance payout if he were to die. Although the victim did not divulge her exact address to Timmerman, he found out where she lived. Last April he travelled to the Wirral from Holland. Her mother was alerted when she found presents left by him in their back garden. He had left a note saying where he was staying and police traced him to a B&B where they discovered a laptop containing “extreme pornography”. Timmerman, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty. Ashley Barnes, defending, said his client maintained he did not plan to engage in sexual activity with the girl. But head of Wirral CID, DCI Dave McCaughrean, said he was convinced Timmerman would have gone on to abuse the girl He said: “Kristian Timmerman is a cold, devious, calculated individual who is a sexual predator.”
