KIERAN NEAL AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN BRADFORD
A disturbing case of sexual violence unfolded in Bradford when a man named Kieran Neal, aged 21, targeted a woman walking through the city centre in August 2021.The incident was detailed during a court hearing at Bradford Crown Court, revealing the troubling sequence of events that led to Neal's conviction.
According to court records, Neal initially approached the woman and offered her £10 to engage in sexual activity.
The woman, who was identified as a sex worker, declined his proposition.
In response, Neal attempted to intimidate her by pushing her away.
Despite her refusal, Neal's actions escalated when he was observed performing a sexual act in the street, an act that was captured on CCTV footage.
The footage showed Neal following the woman after the initial encounter.
It was later confirmed that he had physically assaulted her by grabbing her breast and placing his hand inside her top.
The woman’s identification of Neal was made possible when a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) recognized him from the CCTV images.
However, Neal initially denied being the individual seen in the footage when he was arrested.
Further court proceedings revealed that Neal was already serving a prison sentence at the time of this incident.
He had been recalled to prison and was subsequently convicted of multiple offences, including sexual assault, indecent exposure, and a house burglary committed in the Preston area in September 2021.
The sentencing was delivered by Recorder Paul Reid, who highlighted Neal’s troubling criminal history, noting that he had a significant record for his age.
Neal was sentenced to a total of 876 days in prison as a third-strike burglary offender.
Additionally, he received concurrent sentences of 10 months for the sexual offences and one month for indecent exposure.
As part of his punishment, Neal was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for the next seven years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
