KEVIN ROBERTSON FROM CUMBERNAULD SENTENCED TO FOUR AND A HALF YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN EDINBURGH

A man named Kevin Robertson has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison following a disturbing sexual assault that took place in Cumbernauld. The incident, which occurred after a social gathering, was brought to light during a hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh, revealing the troubling details of the attack on a 15-year-old girl.

According to court records, the young girl was planning to spend the night at a babysitter’s house after her parents left a barbecue event in Cumbernauld. As the evening progressed, she attempted to contact her mother to inform her of her plans but was unable to get through. Deciding to walk home instead, she was accompanied by Kevin Robertson, a 37-year-old man who claimed he was going along to walk his dog. The court heard that shortly after they set out, Robertson began to behave inappropriately, attempting to kiss her and making sexual remarks.

Further disturbing details emerged as Robertson pulled down her trousers, an act that marked the beginning of a series of molestations. The girl, distressed and seeking safety, returned to the babysitter’s house in Cumbernauld, intending to sleep on a couch in the living room. However, her ordeal was not over. A few minutes later, Robertson entered the room and resumed his assault, molesting her again in a manner that caused significant trauma.

During the court proceedings, Kevin Robertson, who resides at Glenmore Court, Glenrothes, and was employed as a technical analyst with Fife Council, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to rape. The incident took place on July 13 of the previous year, and the court’s judgment reflected the severity of his actions.
