KEVIN HODSON'S BRUTAL ATTACK IN BLACKBURN: SEX OFFENDER'S VIOLENT OUTBURST ON PARTNER
In April 2021, a disturbing incident unfolded in Blackburn involving Kevin Hodson, a known sex offender, who subjected his partner to a violent assault that left her traumatized and fearing for her life.According to court reports, the incident occurred after the victim informed Hodson that she did not wish to stay overnight at his residence.
This seemingly simple request triggered a violent and aggressive response from Hodson, who was then 60 years old and residing on Pine Street in Blackburn.
Witnesses and court proceedings revealed that the relationship between Hodson and the victim had begun following the death of her previous partner.
The victim described their initial relationship as relatively normal, but it soon became apparent that Hodson’s controlling tendencies were beginning to surface.

At approximately 4:10 pm, the victim arrived at Hodson’s home.
Almost immediately, Hodson’s demeanor shifted to aggression when she expressed her desire not to stay.
Without warning, Hodson grabbed her by the hair and then proceeded to choke her, applying pressure to her neck in a violent manner.
The assault did not stop there; he also scratched her face, causing bleeding, and inflicted injuries to her hands.
During the assault, the victim managed to call her mother for help.
Unbeknownst to her, Hodson was listening in on the call and heard her making threats to call the police.
As the call remained open, her mother could hear Hodson issuing threats, demanding that she tell her mother to stand down the police or he would harm her further.
Hodson then retrieved a knife from somewhere within the property.
The court heard that this act was utterly terrifying for the victim, who was already in a state of distress after being physically assaulted and having her throat squeezed.
Hodson’s behavior grew more menacing as he brandished the weapon, threatening to stab her in the stomach if the police arrived.
Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and arrested Hodson at his address.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Hodson had previous convictions related to sexual offenses, adding a troubling context to his violent outburst.
Judge Phillip Parry, presiding over the case, described the incident as a clear example of a red mist descending, indicating a loss of control and intent to cause serious harm.
