Kenneth Trotter

Blackpool Sexual Abuser

January 2013 “An exceptionally dangerous man”: Paedophile pensioner jailed after being kicked out of Australia A sadistic paedophile who went on the run after being kicked out of Australia was yesterday jailed for three years. British born Kenneth Trotter, 78, served a series of jail sentences Down Under before being sent back to the UK last year. Now the serial sex offender has been locked up after a judge described him as “an exceptionally dangerous man” Trotter had been ordered to tell police if he changed his address. But a court was told he “blatantly and flagrantly breached the order by pre-meditated and wilful acts of defiance”. At one stage officers had no idea where he was and had to launch a public appeal for help. The pervert was branded “sadistic and callous” by a judge who jailed him for child sex attacks in New South Wales. He had served 18 years in Australian prisons and after being released from his last sentence he was deported to the UK. But last year a court heard how within a month of landing Trotter had tricked his way into a church group to meet girls. He had pretended to have been sent from a Jobcentre to hire 14-year-olds to work as canvassers. He even tried to lure girls to live with him. Trotter, who had set up home in Blackpool, Lancashire, had denied two breaches of the order. Jailing him for three years at Preston Crown Court, Judge Graham Knowles QC said he had been determined to give police the slip. He said Trotter had a long and foul history of sexual depravity in Australia, where a list of 36 offences included indecent assault and gross indecency. And he added: “You, Trotter, in my view, are an exceptionally dangerous man with nothing to lose. “A pre-sentence report by the probation service speaks of prolific sexual offending against vulnerable male children, the predatory manipulative nature of offending, your portrayal of yourself as a victim, your refusal to accept any responsibility for your behaviour, your lack of remorse, your continued denial of any sexual interest in children and a lack of victim empathy.” The court had heard how on four separate occasions he visited a mother of four in Blackpool, pretending to be canvassing for work for sewing machine repairs. It was the same ruse which had been a feature of his offending in Australia where he had lived for more than fifty years. He had dual nationality but his Australian citizenship was revoked when he was booted out last year. November 2012 Offender ‘poses a serious risk to children A SADISTIC paedophile who abducts children has been made the subject of a court order designed to make sure he never goes to ground again. But evil Kenneth Trotter argues that the move breached his Human Rights. Trotter was kicked out of Australia after serving an 18-year sentence for child sex offences. He was deported to Britain and started his child grooming again. Trotter, 77, managed to evade the police for three weeks by giving false addresses in Blackpool. But now police have managed to secure a court order which means he cannot live anywhere in England and Wales without the premises being vetted by specialist sex crime officers first. Trotter’s objection to the move was overturned by Blackpool Magistrates. Police prosecutor Sue McLane told the court: ”The last thing we want is any more children to suffer. This man poses a serious threat to children – he is a danger. “Some of the victims of this sort of crime bear the mental scars for the rest of their lives.” Trotter was convicted in Australia for sex offences against children including abduction and rape. The sentencing judge branded him: ”Sadistic, heartless and callous.” On his return to Britain – he left the UK shores in the 1950s but had dual citizenship – he began his paedophile ways almost immediately. He registered an address with police which later turned out to be a charity which had never even heard of Trotter. And then he went to a church group offering teenage girls the chance to work for him canvassing his skills as a sewing machine repairer on a door to door basis. He offered the Methodist Church youngsters a place in a home he said he was buying. Det Constable Paul Roe told the court: ”He has been staying at places where there are small children and the owners do not know about his past.” Trotter claimed that the Sexual Offences Prevention Order which including the police vetting clause breached his Human Rights. The court heard from an expert in dealing with child sex offenders. Jacqueline Toro told the court: ”I interviewed him and he categorically denied ever committing any offences and says other people have persecuted him.” Paul Robinson, defending, said: ”Mr Trotter feels he will never be able to find accommodation in this country.” The terms of the SOPO also forbid Trotter from having any contact with children. He must not invite them into his home and must not employ them. July 2012 Vile paedophile deported from Australia because of his crimes ‘tries to lure young girls to live in his house’ A ‘sadistic, callous and heartless’ paedophile who was deported from Australia is back to his evil ways in Britain, a court has heard. British-born Kenneth Trotter, 77, only arrived in the UK less than a month ago after serving 18 years in prison for sex offences involving children. But he has been using a seaside church in Blackpool, Lancashire, as cover to meet young girls, magistrates were told. He is the latest in a line of British-born criminals who have been deported here after being jailed in Australia for serious offences. The case has echoes with that of violent rapist Leslie Cunliffe, who was sent here in March this year despite having lived in Australia since 1967 Trotter’s behaviour came to light today when police secured a Sex Offenders Prevention Order against him. He is not behind bars, however, despite Trotter even telling magistrates he would prefer go to prison. After the order was granted, Trotter shouted at the bench: ‘I would rather go to jail now….I have to go to prison.’  On arriving in the UK, Trotter told police he would live in a property in Blackpool. But checks found he was not living there – and never had – and a nationwide police hunt for him began. He was eventually arrested in Blackpool town centre on June 23.
Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard that Trotter had been going to a centre at North Shore Methodist Church. There he pretended to have been sent from the Jobcentre to offer employment to girls aged 14 and over to work as canvassers for him. He said girls aged over 16 could live at a house he was buying in Blackpool. The court also heard that Trotter of Clevedon Road, Blackpool, had set up a door-to-door sewing machine repair business. However, police believed that his cold-calling was a front for attempts to groom children for abuse. He went to one house where two young girls lived four times – despite being told their household did not have a sewing machine. Trotter spent 18 years in custody in Australia and, when jailed for the final time, a judge in New South Wales called him a ‘sadistic, callous and most heartless human being’. Even in prison he provoked outrage, as it was revealed he was one of a group of inmates allowed to watch hardcore porn. As soon as he was released he had his Australian citizenship revoked and was flown to the UK. Sue McLane, of Lancashire Police, said that Trotter posed a high risk to the community. Sue Mugford, for Trotter, said that her client could not get any benefits because he had spent so long in Australia and his own income came from door-to-door work. ‘If he does not work he will be homeless and starve,’ she said. The order forbids Trotter from having contact with children or working door to door, will last for three months. Trotter is not the first British-born paedophile to be affected by an Australian policy which allows criminals convicted of serious offences to be deported to their country of origin. Cunliffe was deported to the UK, even though he had lived in Australia since 1967 and no longer has family or other connections here. Known as the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ rapist, Cunliffe spent 12 years in prison for the abduction and rape of a young woman he kept locked in a homemade dungeon. Other criminals who have been sent home include murderer and rapist Simon Wilson, who had lived in Australia since he was two. He was returned in 2008 at the end of a life sentence for beating an elderly woman to death. Three months later he tried to rape a frail 71-year-old woman in Camden, North London. The same year paedophile Raymond Horne came back to Britain after serving a 12-year prison sentence for 14 sex offences against homeless teenage boys. Convicted paedophile Robert Excell was deported back to Britain because of ill health after serving 40 years behind bars in Australia. Child rapist Excell, who was once deemed so dangerous by Australian authorities they vowed never to release him, had sex offences dating back to 1965, when he raped a seven-year-old boy. He emigrated to Australia aged ten but never became a citizen. After his release from a Perth jail in 2005 authorities ruled he was to be deported back to Britain June 2012 Police hunt ‘sadistic’ peadophile on run in Lancashire A “sadisdic” paedophile who was deported back to the UK from Australia has gone on the run after absconding from a hostel in Lancashire. Serial sex offender Kenneth Trotter was described by a judge in Sydney as “a callous, sadistic and most heartless human being” when he was jailed for sex assaults on children. He was discarged from jail after serving a lengthy sentence in New South Wales and was sent back to his native UK. While in Ararat Prison, Victoria, Trotter was one of a number of sex offenders at the centre of a scandal when it emerged they had been shown porn films. Now Lancashire Police have lauched a manhunt for Trotter, 77, after it emerged that he had breached the terms of his licence in the UK. A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a missing sex offender. “Kenneth Trotter was recently deported from Australia, where he had a number of convictions for sex offences and child sex offences. “Trotter registered himself as staying at a Blackpool address but there is no record of him having stayed there, breaching notification requirements. “He was last seen in the resort on 6th June.” Detective Chief Inspector Brian Quinn, of Lancashire Police, added: “Trotter is subject to certain notification requirements and by providing an address where he is not staying he has failed to meet these requirements. “I would appeal for anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts to get in touch with the police.” If anyone has any information they should contact police on the non-emergency number 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on             0800 555 111
