KENNETH DAVIES FROM BOLTON FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES OVER CHILD IMAGES FOUND ON HIS DEVICES
In March 2016, a serious case involving Kenneth Davies, a resident of Bolton, came to light when authorities uncovered disturbing evidence on his electronic devices. The incident led to Davies being fined and placed under a community order after he was found in possession of indecent images of children.
According to court records, Davies, aged 52 at the time, appeared before Bolton Magistrates' Court to face charges related to the possession of illegal material.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of creating indecent photographs of children by downloading such images from the internet.
The police investigation was initiated after a warrant was executed at Davies' residence on October 7 of the previous year.
During the raid, law enforcement officials discovered a total of 28 category C indecent images of children stored on Davies' tablet device.
Additionally, one more image was found to have been transferred from the tablet to his mobile phone, bringing the total to 29 images.
The children depicted in these images were estimated to be between the ages of eight and 14 years old, highlighting the severity and disturbing nature of the material involved.
Prosecutor Nicola Ormerod detailed the findings to the magistrates, emphasizing the gravity of the case.
The discovery of such images on Davies' devices prompted immediate legal action, leading to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
In his defense, Peter Leather, representing Davies, highlighted the defendant's ongoing mental health struggles and psychiatric issues.
He also pointed out that Davies has had longstanding problems with alcohol consumption.
Leather stated that Davies had already sought professional help to address his alcohol dependency and expressed hope that he would not reoffend.
Leather emphasized Davies' willingness to cooperate with mental health and addiction specialists, asserting that his client is committed to making positive changes.
He added, “He very much wants to engage with all professionals to receive the help he needs.
He stressed that Davies is unlikely to appear in court again.
His lesson has been learnt.
He wants to put all this behind him.” As part of the sentence, Davies was ordered to complete 40 days of rehabilitation activities.
His electronic devices, including his phone and tablet, were to be destroyed to prevent further misuse.
He was also fined £335 and ordered to pay an additional £145 in costs and charges.
Furthermore, Davies was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register and subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The order prohibits him from deleting his internet browsing history and mandates that he make his computer equipment available for police inspection upon request.
These measures aim to prevent any future offenses and ensure ongoing monitoring of his online activity.
