November 2002 PORN MAN LOCKED UP A DANGEROUS pervert who was obsessed with little girls and who downloaded child sex filth to his computer has been jailed for five and a half years. Former Barnoldswick man Keith Whiteley (44) enticed two six-year-old schoolgirls to his home to take their photographs, showed them indecent images and was “grooming them” for possible future indecent conduct. He was working as a web site developer and living at an address in Burnley at the time of the offence. Police later found tens of thousands of obscene images, some showing adults having full sexual intercourse with children under five, on his computer. Burnley Crown Court heard the defendant was sexually stimulated by the pictures and admitted he could not control his behaviour. He had previous convictions for molesting youngsters. Judge Barbara Watson, who had seen a sample of the pornography, said she felt overwhelming concern for the young victims in the images, some of which depicted very young children being abused, humiliated and subjected to bondage. She went on to say that previous sex offenders’ treatment had done absolutely nothing for him. Whiteley admitted two counts of child abduction. He also pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent photographs of a child and six of possessing them. The defendant was given extended licence period of three years, ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and banned from working with children. Mr Mark Stuart, defending, said while under supervision Whiteley was doing his best to keep away from child pornography.
