KEITH GRIEVE AND SHOCKING SEX OFFENCES IN INVERNESS

A disturbing case has emerged involving Keith Grieve, a 58-year-old osteopath from Inverness, who has been convicted of serious sexual misconduct allegations involving seven male patients.

The charges stem from allegations that Grieve sought sexual gratification through inappropriate and non-consensual acts during treatment sessions at a medical clinic located within the city.

The conviction was handed down after an extensive 15-day trial at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood officially found Grieve guilty on seven counts of sexual assault, confirming that the acts involved a significant sexual element.

During the proceedings, the court heard how the initial complaint came from a single patient, who expressed concerns about Grieve’s professional conduct concerning teenage footballers aiming to join professional teams in the Highlands.

This concern led to police involvement, and subsequently, a series of victims came forward with similar allegations.

Initially, Grieve faced accusations that he had sexually assaulted ten men by removing their underwear without consent and engaging in molestation.

However, during the course of the trial, some charges were either not proven or dropped; Sheriff Fleetwood clarified that two charges were not proven, and one was dropped by the Crown.

Despite this, seven charges did lead to a conviction.

Throughout the court proceedings, Grieve maintained his innocence, claiming that the accusations were part of a vendetta orchestrated by a rival professional.

He denied the allegations and insisted he was the victim of a targeted smear campaign.

Nevertheless, Sheriff Fleetwood dismissed these claims, emphasizing the sexual nature of the offences.

The court considered whether to impose a prison sentence, with Sheriff Fleetwood noting that the possibility was not immediate but still on the table pending a social inquiry report.

He also emphasized the importance of safeguarding the public, especially because Grieve was a first-time offender.

The sheriff ordered that Grieve, once convicted, be placed on the sex offenders' register and notified the police of any change of address within three days.

In addition to the legal proceedings, the case had significant personal and professional repercussions for Grieve.

It was reported that he had lost his osteopathic practice following the allegations coming to light and being adjudicated in court.

The sentencing hearing was scheduled to continue on 25 March, and until then, Grieve's future remains uncertain.

The case has garnered considerable attention within the local community of Inverness, highlighting the importance of vigilance and thorough investigation in cases involving abuse of trust and authority by health professionals.
