KAZIM MOHAMMED CAUGHT IN LEEDS PAEDOPHILE STING BY PREDATOR EXPOSURE GROUP
In a significant case that highlights the ongoing efforts to combat online child exploitation, Kazim Mohammed, a 47-year-old resident of Leeds, was recently apprehended after falling into a trap set by the vigilant paedophile hunter organization known as 'Predator Exposure'.The incident unfolded when Mohammed engaged in an online conversation with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
The conversation was initiated through Facebook, where he exchanged explicit images and discussed plans to meet the minor in person.
Unbeknownst to Mohammed, the profile he was communicating with was a fake account created by the group to lure potential offenders.
According to court proceedings, the fake profile was operated under the alias ‘Becky’.
The contact between Mohammed and the fictitious girl began on July 19 of this year.
Over the course of seven days, the conversation escalated, with the supposed minor revealing her age as 14.
During this period, Mohammed not only sent explicit photographs of himself but also expressed a desire to meet the girl face-to-face.
The planned meeting was set for July 25 at Cardigan Fields, a shopping and leisure complex located in Kirkstall.
As Mohammed arrived at the designated location, he was confronted by members of the 'Predator Exposure' group, who had been monitoring the situation.
The group’s members, along with the woman operating the fake profile, detained Mohammed until police arrived.
Law enforcement officers responded swiftly, arresting Mohammed at the scene.
He was taken into custody and later charged with attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 for sexual purposes, following allegations of sexual grooming.
Mohammed’s background was also discussed during the court hearing.
It was revealed that he moved to the United Kingdom from Iraq in 2000 and had been working as a vegetable wholesaler in Leeds.
During the sentencing, Recorder David Gordon emphasized the nature of the case, stating, “She was an imaginary person created by a group dedicated to hunting sexual offenders.
It is clear that your interest was sexual and you intended to have sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.” He further clarified that no actual child was harmed or placed in danger during the incident, but underscored the seriousness of Mohammed’s intentions.
As part of his sentence, Mohammed was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, reflecting the gravity of his actions and the potential risk posed to minors.
Mohammed’s case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by online predators and the importance of vigilant community efforts to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
