KAYE LITTLE FROM CLEVELAND SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN LEEDS

A convicted paedophile from Cleveland, specifically from High Street in Boosbeck, has been sentenced to prison for a series of heinous crimes involving children. Kaye Little, also known as Kia Little, was found guilty of multiple serious offences, including engaging in sexual activities with minors, sending malicious communications, and possessing and distributing indecent images of children. The crimes took place over a span of four years, from 2015 to 2019, while Little was residing in Boosbeck, East Cleveland.

According to reports from Yorkshire Live, the two young male victims, who were living in Leeds at the time, were contacted by Little through the internet. Her predatory behavior exploited their vulnerability, and her actions caused significant harm to the victims. The investigation into her activities was initiated in 2019 when the Leeds Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team identified her as a suspect following reports of malicious communications.

Further inquiries by West Yorkshire Police linked her to sexual offences against the two boys. Her arrest was carried out in 2019, and she was formally charged in April 2022. After a trial held in August of the previous year, a jury found Little guilty of 13 separate offences related to her criminal conduct.

On the day of sentencing, Friday, Little received a prison term of six years for her crimes. However, the court deemed her to be a significant danger to the public, and as a result, the sentence was extended by an additional three years. In addition, she was given a nine-month sentence, to run concurrently, for an offence involving an adult male in Cleveland, which was investigated separately by another law enforcement agency.

Leading the investigation, Detective Constable Khi Smith, formerly with the Leeds Children Vulnerable to Exploitation Team, expressed satisfaction with the outcome. Smith stated, “I am pleased with the sentence handed to Little today for the abhorrent offences she committed. I want to thank the victims not only for their bravery in coming forward to report the offences but also for their strength throughout the lengthy criminal justice process.”

He further emphasized the importance of supporting victims, saying, “They were put through the daunting experience of a criminal trial and have shown so much courage and dignity throughout. I hope they can begin to move on with their lives, knowing a level of justice has been served.” Smith also issued a stark warning, highlighting that Little’s actions exploited vulnerable children and that such offending will not be tolerated. He urged anyone who has experienced similar offences, whether recent or in the past, to come forward and report them to the police, assuring victims that they will be listened to, taken seriously, and supported by specially trained officers. The police also commit to providing further help and support to victims as part of their ongoing efforts to secure justice.
