JUSTIN DIXEY FROM GILLINGHAM SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL IN MAIDSTONE

In a case that has shocked the local community, Justin Dixey, a resident of Moyle Close in Gillingham, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The conviction was secured at Maidstone Crown Court, where the court heard detailed accounts of the abuse that occurred approximately 17 years ago.

Justin Dixey, aged 50 and a married father, maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings. He faced charges that included one count of attempted rape of a child under the age of 13, six counts of indecent assault, and two counts of indecency with a child. Despite his denials, a jury took just over an hour to deliberate and reach a guilty verdict on all counts in January.

The court was told that the offenses took place many years ago, during which Dixey engaged in a pattern of disturbing conduct towards the young victim. The victim, who was a child at the time, was subjected to molestation and was coerced into touching him. The court heard that Dixey, who was described as a martial artist capable of doing the splits, attempted to rape the girl. Fortunately, she was able to resist his advances and managed to escape from the situation.

Judge Adele Williams, presiding over the case, emphasized that the conviction was based on “clear and compelling evidence.” She described the nature of Dixey’s actions, stating, “You engaged in a course of conduct on about three occasions whereby you touched her sexually.” The judge further explained that the most serious incident involved an attempt to commit rape, which the victim was able to thwart.

In her sentencing remarks, Judge Williams expressed her sympathy for the victim, noting that she had carried the burden of this secret for many years until she could no longer bear it. She stated, “By your conduct, you robbed her of her innocence as a child. You have caused her maximum harm and distress. There was psychological harm.”

While acknowledging that Dixey had been employed continuously and that character witnesses spoke highly of him, the judge pointed out that the pre-sentence report revealed he was in denial about his crimes and lacked insight into the harm caused.

As a result of his conviction, Dixey’s name will be entered onto the sex offenders’ register indefinitely. Additionally, he will be legally barred from working with children and vulnerable adults, reflecting the severity of his offenses and the need to protect others from potential harm.
