DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR RANSACKING EX-PARTNERS HOME AND HARASSMENT
A Doncaster man has been sentenced to two years in prison after he broke into his ex-partner's residence and caused damage, as well as sending her threatening messages.
Julian Brennan, aged 35, of Summerfields Drive, pleaded guilty to charges of domestic burglary, criminal damage, harassment, and stalking at Sheffield Crown Court on the day his trial was scheduled to commence.
He admitted to unlawfully entering his ex-partner's house on New Year's Day and ransacking it.
Following the break-in, Brennan continued to intimidate the victim through hostile messages and letters.
Throughout the investigation and court proceedings, PC James Housley from the Doncaster East Neighbourhood Policing Team supported the victim and highlighted the seriousness with which domestic violence reports are treated.
Brennan's actions were deemed severe enough to warrant a two-year jail sentence and a restraining order to ensure the victim's protection.
The court emphasized the bravery and determination of the victim in helping to secure this prosecution.
Brennan was sentenced on October 12 at Sheffield Crown Court.
