JOSHUA DOYLE FROM BRADFORD SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLD BOY AND DISTRIBUTION OF INDECENT IMAGES
In August 2021, a disturbing case involving a Bradford man named Joshua Doyle came to light, revealing a series of heinous crimes committed against a young teenager and subsequent online misconduct.Doyle, whose actions have shocked the local community and law enforcement alike, was found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with a 14-year-old boy and distributing indecent images of the victim over the internet, actions that have led to his imprisonment for a period of two years.
According to court proceedings, Doyle first made contact with the 14-year-old victim through social media platforms in 2018.
The Leeds Crown Court heard that Doyle manipulated the young boy into meeting him in North Leeds, where he then engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor.
The prosecutor, Bashir Ahmed, detailed how the victim later sent Doyle explicit images of himself via Facebook, which Doyle then exploited and shared further.
The police were alerted after the victim's distress and the exchange of indecent images.
Upon arresting Doyle, authorities discovered that he had distributed these images to two other teenagers, further exacerbating the severity of his crimes.
Investigators also found additional indecent images on Doyle’s devices, totaling 66 images classified as Category A, indicating the most serious level of offending.
Following his initial arrest, Doyle was released on bail while investigations continued.
However, in April 2019, he was re-arrested after the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Crime Unit, working in conjunction with West Yorkshire Police, uncovered that Doyle had made contact with two undercover officers posing as 14-year-old boys online.
Doyle initiated conversations with one of these 'boys' and requested nude images, demonstrating his continued predatory behavior.
Further alarming was Doyle’s attempt to arrange a physical meeting with the second undercover 'boy.' He was arrested on June 5, 2019, just as he was about to travel to meet the individual, believing he was about to engage in sexual activity.
Doyle, who resides on Hunsworth Lane in Bradford, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including inciting a boy under 16 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to cause a child to watch an image of sexual activity, possessing an indecent image of a child, and two counts of distributing such images.
During sentencing, Judge Mushtaq Khokhar emphasized the importance of protecting young people from such predators, stating, “Only a custodial sentence can be justified for the protection of young people.” Doyle’s actions have not only caused significant harm to the victim but also posed a serious threat to the safety of minors in the community, leading to his two-year imprisonment and a stark reminder of the ongoing need for vigilance against online exploitation.
