JOSH GUILDER FROM NORTHAMPTON SENTENCED AFTER HARASSMENT AND SHPO BREACHES IN ONLINE BABY PRODUCT SCAM
A 24-year-old man named Josh Guilder, formerly residing in Northampton, has been re-incarcerated following a series of disturbing breaches related to his status as a registered sex offender.Guilder’s actions, which included online harassment and violations of strict legal conditions, have once again brought him into the criminal justice spotlight.
Guilder, who was under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) due to his previous convictions, was mandated to adhere to specific restrictions after his release from prison.
These conditions were designed to prevent any further contact with minors and to restrict his online activities.
Despite these legal safeguards, Guilder failed to comply, leading to serious consequences.
In May of this year, Guilder committed multiple violations that culminated in his harassment of a woman involved in selling baby products via the internet.
Initially, the woman believed she was dealing with a legitimate buyer.
However, Guilder’s intentions quickly turned sinister as he began sending disturbing messages.
He expressed a desire for her baby to “suck on the dummies” she was selling, claiming he “wanted them used.” The woman, who felt “shocked and disturbed” by Guilder’s inappropriate and unsettling messages, chose to cease communication with him.
Despite her withdrawal, Guilder persisted and sent her another message asking, “can I take the dummy out of your baby’s mouth and suck on it.” This message further demonstrated his blatant disregard for boundaries and the law.
Guilder’s breaches extended beyond online harassment.
Investigations revealed that he had deleted messages on WhatsApp, which was a direct violation of his SHPO.
Furthermore, he admitted to having contact with two unidentified children while purchasing used baby products from the internet, an act that raised significant concerns about his intentions and compliance with legal restrictions.
He faced multiple charges, including one count of harassment without violence, two counts of breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and one count of attempting to breach the order.
Guilder pleaded guilty to these offences during a hearing at Northampton Crown Court in June.
His case was revisited this week, on Monday, October 28, where he was sentenced to more than one year and six months in prison, reflecting the seriousness of his violations and the court’s stance on protecting vulnerable individuals from potential harm.
