JORDAN TOWERS BROADSTAIRS PERVERT SENTENCED FOR ONLINE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF YOUNG GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Broadstairs, a man named Jordan Towers has been sentenced to over five years in prison for engaging in a series of heinous online activities targeting young girls. The case, which came to light through a detailed police investigation, revealed that Towers, aged 22 and formerly residing on Northdown Road in Broadstairs, had been actively contacting underage girls via various social media platforms with malicious intent.

According to police reports, Towers would initiate conversations with these girls, some as young as 14 years old, and manipulate them into sending explicit photographs of themselves. His tactics involved encouraging the girls to take intimate pictures and then sending them to him. Once he received these images, Towers would perform sexual acts on a webcam, often inviting the girls to do the same. His threats extended beyond the digital realm; he warned the girls that if they refused to comply or stop communicating, he would contact their friends and family with the explicit messages and images they had shared.

The police investigation uncovered that Towers had targeted vulnerable young girls, exploiting their trust and innocence for his own sexual gratification. His actions were part of a broader pattern of predatory behavior that alarmed authorities and the local community alike.

Detectives from the paedophile online investigation team identified Towers as a suspect and arrested him in June 2013. Following his arrest, he was charged with six separate offences related to his online activities. On January 15, the defendant pleaded guilty to five of these charges, which included inciting a child to engage in a penetrative sex act, inciting a child to engage in a non-penetrative sex act, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, possessing indecent images of children, and inciting a child to participate in pornography.

His sentencing took place on March 10, where he was handed a prison term of five years and two months. Additionally, an indefinite sexual offences prevention order was imposed to prevent him from reoffending and to protect the community from further harm.

Detective Constable Dave Taft commented on the case, stating, “Jordan Towers systematically set out to humiliate and threaten girls for his own sexual purposes. I would like to pay tribute to those who were brave enough to contact the police, and say to all children that if you are concerned about the way someone is behaving towards you online, please tell someone. It may be that the offender is offending against others as well, and your piece of information could be the final part of a jigsaw that helps to protect other people.”

He also emphasized the importance of parental awareness, urging parents to understand how the internet and social networking sites operate. “The internet is an incredible tool, but there are people who use it for bad purposes. Parents should talk with their children, open up those lines of communication, and learn together to ensure children use the internet safely. The ‘stranger danger’ concept is as relevant to the internet as it is to meeting strangers in real life.”
