JORDAN HINCE OF ORFORD JAILED IN LIVERPOOL FOR CHILD GROOMING AND PAEDOPHILE STING INTERACTIONS
A man named Jordan Hince from Orford was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after attempting to groom young girls online over a week-long period last summer. Hince, aged 22, was involved in a series of disturbing online chats with profiles claiming to be girls aged between 11 and 14. During these conversations, he made lewd remarks, shared sexually explicit images of himself, and encouraged minors to send indecent photos, asserting that "all girls do it".Hince also urged a 12-year-old girl to expose herself and warned her to keep their interactions secret, promising she would become popular if she did. He also encouraged an 11-year-old to meet him in person, suggesting they walk around town and later go to her grandmother's house for sex. He told her, "all you have to do is get naked and I’ll do the rest," offering to help her learn about sex before their planned meeting.
Further, he asked a 14-year-old if she would be his secret girlfriend, expressing affection by saying, "I love you babe." Hince made specific arrangements to meet this girl at Central Station for secret sex and invited her to stay the night, asking if he could undress her slowly and take naked pictures.
His plans were thwarted when paedophile hunters confronted him, made a citizen’s arrest, and called the police. During police interviews, Hince admitted he knew what he was doing, described himself as not a bad person, and confessed that he was sexually aroused by the interactions.
He faced multiple charges, including eight counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child, four counts of attempting to cause a child to look at sexual images, and two counts of attempting to meet a child after grooming. During sentencing, his defence lawyer, Michael Bagley, described Hince as a socially isolated and lonely individual with a difficult background, suggesting a potential for rehabilitation through suspension, but ultimately Hince was imprisoned, handed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
Judge David Hale emphasized that Hince deliberately contacted false profiles claiming to be young girls, quickly steering conversations toward sexual topics and making plans to meet, which posed a serious risk. He highlighted that although the profiles were fake, Hince's intent was clear, and he had expressed desire to have sex with a 14-year-old girl he thought he could meet.
Hince, supported by his mother and grandfather in court, was not released and was considered a danger to society. The judge concluded that due to his repeated attempts to contact children and his active planning for in-person meetings, he could not be safely released, affirming that justice must be served to protect potential victims.
