JORDAN BLENKINSHIP SENTENCED IN BLACKPOOL FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL

Jordan Blenkinship, born on June 13, 1992, and residing on Livingstone Road in Blackpool, has been sentenced to a six-year prison term following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual offences committed against a young girl. In addition to his custodial sentence, he has been issued a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes strict restrictions on his behavior and contact with minors.

These offences date back to 2009, when the victim was only four years old. At that time, Blenkinship was 17 years old. It was revealed during court proceedings that he had sexually assaulted the young girl over a period of two years, a period during which the victim endured repeated abuse at his hands. The gravity of these crimes was underscored by the fact that the abuse spanned such a significant portion of her early childhood.

Despite being arrested in March 2010, Blenkinship initially denied any involvement when questioned by detectives. It was not until years later, in 2019, that the victim came forward to support a police investigation. Her decision to speak out was motivated by a desire to empower others who might have experienced similar abuse and to send a message that it is never too late to seek justice. Her courage in coming forward was instrumental in progressing the case.

To aid the investigation, the victim participated in a video interview with police officers, recounting the abuse she suffered at the hands of Blenkinship. Her testimony played a crucial role in building a strong case against him. In October 2019, Blenkinship was re-arrested and once again denied the allegations. However, the evidence collected was compelling enough for prosecutors to charge him with ten separate counts of sexual offences involving the young girl.

Following a week-long trial at Manchester Crown Court, Blenkinship was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault and sexual assault by penetration of a girl under the age of 13. The verdict marked a significant step in delivering justice for the victim and protecting the community from a dangerous individual.

Detective Constable Callum Shackleton, a member of GMP’s Major Incident Team, expressed his condemnation of Blenkinship’s actions, stating, “Blenkinship has absolutely no remorse for the physical and mental trauma he has subjected the victim to. He is the worst kind of predator, and he is now behind bars and will no longer pose as a threat to children.”

He further emphasized that the conviction is only the beginning of the healing process for the victim, who has shown remarkable strength in coming forward. Shackleton acknowledged her bravery and thanked her for working closely with police throughout the investigation. “While today’s sentencing cannot undo the suffering inflicted upon her, it provides some reassurance that Blenkinship is no longer free to harm others,” he added.

Authorities continue to encourage anyone who has experienced sexual assault, regardless of how much time has passed, or those who know someone who has been victimized, to contact law enforcement. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of speaking out and seeking justice for victims of such heinous crimes.
