JOHN MARK POOLE, A SEX OFFENDER IN WEYMOUTH, APPEARS IN COURT IN BOURNEMOUTH
A convicted sex offender from Weymouth, John Mark Poole, who has been living homeless on the streets of Bournemouth, failed to inform authorities of his change in circumstances and was involved in an assault on a community safety officer, a court was told.Poole, also known as Leon Park, admitted to not notifying the police within three days as required by law that he was no longer living at his registered address on Park Street, Weymouth.
This failure was classified as an offence under the Sexual Offences Act.
On Tuesday, January 11, Poole appeared via live video link at Poole Magistrates Court.
He pleaded guilty to attacking a victim on November 8, 2021, who was acting in their official duty under a community safety accreditation scheme, and to a separate incident of criminal damage while he was under a conditional discharge order.
The court decided to adjourn the case until February 17 to allow for a medical or psychiatric report to be prepared.
Poole was granted conditional bail until the next hearing.
Conditions include reporting to Weymouth Police Station, living and sleeping in Weymouth to ensure his appearance at the next court session, and efforts to prevent reoffending.
Additionally, he is required to engage with the REACH drug and alcohol rehabilitation service and participate in psychiatric assessments for the preparation of a report.
