January 2016 Bristol man admits having sex with 14-year-old girl A man who admitted a two-day sex session with a 14-year-old girl described the age of consent law as “ridiculous”, a court heard. John Harrasin-Worgan, 21, had sex with the teenager in a one-bedroom flat he shared with three other adults, it was claimed. But after the father-of-two was arrested he told a probation officer 14-year-old girls regularly had sex Probation officer Jane Middleton told the court the defendant operated at a lower level than his age and had paid no thought to the age of consent, calling it “ridiculous”. Harrasin-Worgan, from Bristol, pleaded guilty to three charges of having sexual activity with a child and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Mary Cowe, prosecuting, said Harrasin-Worgan lived in flat supported by a housing charity and his friends saw them sleeping together on a mattress in the lounge. She said flatmate Matt Smith had questioned the girl when he saw used condoms. When Harrasin-Worgan was arrested he denied having sex with the girl, saying she was just a friend. He said he had a two-year-old daughter and he would not do something like that. Judge Michael Longman adjourned the case for four weeks for an assessment, and Harrasin-Worgan was remanded in custody.
