NOTTINGHAMSHIRE WOMAN STRANGLED AND ASSAULTED BY 'DEMONIC' ATTACKER SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS
A Nottinghamshire woman was strangled and had a cigarette stubbed out on her head by a 'demonic' attacker.John Chittock subjected the woman to a 'catalogue of violence', assaulting her multiple times between March and June 2022.
Chittock, of Vaughan Avenue, Doncaster, abused his victim at her Nottinghamshire home.
On June 28, the 38-year-old grabbed the woman by the throat, strangling her, biting her cheek and nose.
He also verbally abused her, saying: "I don't care if you are a man or a woman, I will still hurt you all the same." On June 17, he stubbed a lit cigarette on her head, causing burns, and smeared Sudocrem over her face.
Most of Chittock's attacks were fueled by alcohol and involved damage to property, including smashing a gaming console over his own head.
He also caused further damage in an incident on June 29, confronting and assaulting her family before police intervention and his arrest.
Chittock pleaded guilty to two counts of intentional strangulation, eight counts of assault by beating, five counts of criminal damage, and a count of sending malicious communications.
He attended Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on December 1, where a victim impact statement was read, describing how Chittock's actions became "almost demonic as his drinking became more extensive," leaving her "a shell of the person she was before." The judge sentenced him to three years in prison and an indefinite restraining order.
PC Jordan Vilums of Nottinghamshire Police said: "I hope now Chittock has been locked up this woman is able to move on from the terrifying ordeal.
