JOHN BROOK SENTENCED TO SEVEN AND A HALF YEARS FOR ABUSE IN YORKSHIRE

SICK HUDDERSFIELD PAEDOPHILE DIES THREE YEARS INTO LONG JAIL TERM Sex offender John Brook died in jail just three years into a 14-year prison sentence.

Brook, formerly of Deighton, Huddersfield, died while serving his sentence at HMP Isle of Wight.

He was jailed in 2021 for sexual offences against a teenage girl.

A Prisons Ombudsman report published this week said: "On 10 September 2021, Mr John Brook was sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexual offences." He died of a cardiac arrest caused by ischaemic heart disease and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickening of the wall of the heart’s pumping chamber) on 7 July 2024, at HMP Isle of Wight.

He was 71 years old.

A clinical reviewer concluded that the clinical care Brook received at Isle of Wight was of a good standard and equivalent to what he could have expected to receive in the community.

She found evidence of excellent individualised end of lifecare planning, care delivery and decision making.

At the inquest held in December 2025, a coroner concluded that Brook died of natural causes.

In 2021 evil Brook was jailed for abusing a girl aged 13.

In 2014 Brook was jailed for sexually abusing a teenage girl in Huddersfield.

He was jailed for nine years.

He later moved to Huddersfield Road, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, where he continued his sex offending.

—————————————————————————————————— A man with a disturbing history of sexual offenses has been sentenced to a substantial prison term after committing a disgraceful act in Yorkshire.

John Brook, aged 68, was found guilty on multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of a young girl and subsequent violations of court orders designed to prevent reoffending.

The incident occurred in Bradford, where Brook was residing on Huddersfield Road in Ravensthorpe.

The court proceedings revealed that on May 2 of this year, the victim, a 13-year-old girl, was asked by Brook to be driven home.

However, instead of following through with his original intention, Brook fabricated an excuse about insufficient fuel, suggesting to the girl that she should stay at his residence overnight.

This manipulation led to a heinous breach of trust, culminating in sexual assault after they arrived at his house.

The young girl, showing remarkable courage, found a way to escape by claiming she needed to use the toilet.

She then fled to a nearby petrol station, where she promptly contacted law enforcement authorities.

Her quick thinking and bravery played a critical role in the subsequent arrest of John Brook that very same night.

Following his arrest, Brook was charged with and pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, along with breaching the terms of his existing sexual harm prevention order.

These charges reflect a pattern of offending that has distressed the community and challenged protections meant to safeguard vulnerable individuals.

The court sentenced John Brook to seven and a half years in prison.

Moreover, he will remain on the sex offenders' register for life, a requirement that emphasizes the ongoing risk he poses to the public.

This case is particularly shocking considering Brook’s history; it was just over seven years ago that he was first arrested and convicted for abusing a teenage girl described as functioning at a level equivalent to an eight or nine-year-old.

The court documents revealed further troubling details, including that Brook committed multiple sexual offenses against a teenage girl with a low IQ, and in a disturbing twist, he encouraged his brother, Christopher, to commit similar acts.

Detective Olivia Connor of West Yorkshire Police issued a statement praising the victim’s bravery.

She emphasized the severity and premeditated nature of Brook’s actions, noting that his betrayal exploited the trust placed in him by the victim’s family.

Detective Connor expressed her satisfaction with the justice process, affirming that the seven-and-a-half-year sentence sent a clear message that such actions are taken extremely seriously.

She also highlighted the importance of victims speaking out, stating, “I would like to commend the young victim for speaking out and contacting us as soon as she could.

Her bravery has seen this man jailed for his actions, and I’m very pleased with the result.” The authorities reaffirm their commitment to supporting victims and ensuring that individuals who commit such appalling crimes are held accountable, maintaining public confidence in the justice system’s capacity to deal with complex and sensitive cases in Yorkshire.
