JOHN BREWER: BOURNEMOUTH PAEDOPHILE WITH CRIMINAL PAST NEAR NURSERIES IN DEVON AND CORNWALL

In March 2005, concerns escalated around John Brewer, a man with a notorious history of sexual offenses against children, who had recently relocated to Bournemouth, Dorset. His new residence is alarmingly close to a nursery that caters to children aged two to five, situated merely 200 yards from his flat. This proximity has raised serious alarm among local residents and authorities, especially considering Brewer's previous activities in other parts of the country.

Brewer's criminal record dates back to 1996, when he was involved in heinous acts of indecency against a young girl aged five. His predatory behavior did not cease there; in 2004, he traveled to the United States, where he engaged in sexual activities with a seven-year-old girl, facilitated by a woman he met through the internet. His actions in the US led to his initial imprisonment, during which he served nine months before being deported back to Britain on a technicality.

Following his return, Brewer was seen lurking near children in a park in Plymouth, Devon, in 2005, shortly after being linked to child pornography images. Authorities and experts described him as a high-risk individual with all the hallmarks of a long-term paedophile. His presence near children in Plymouth caused widespread concern, especially given his history of sexual offenses and recent activities.

When questioned about his move to Bournemouth, Brewer responded aggressively, refusing to cooperate and threatening violence. He snapped at a reporter, saying, “Who told you I was here? I’ll go and get my knife and stab you... f*** off.” His hostile attitude and proximity to vulnerable children have intensified fears among residents and child protection agencies.

In June 2005, Brewer faced further legal consequences. He was sentenced to five years and seven months after police discovered four indecent images of children on a disk at his Plymouth flat. Despite this, he was released on parole after serving 104 days in custody on remand, with strict conditions that he must adhere to during his license period, or face re-imprisonment.

The images were uncovered after American authorities alerted British police, leading to Brewer’s arrest and subsequent conviction in Plymouth magistrates’ court. Judge Sean Overend described him as exhibiting “all the hallmarks of a long-term paedophile,” warning of the potential danger he posed to pre-pubescent females in the future. Brewer, who has been residing at a bail hostel in Camborne, Cornwall, has also been ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years, underscoring the ongoing threat he represents.

Local communities remain deeply concerned about Brewer’s presence near schools and nurseries, especially given his history of sexual offenses and recent activities. Authorities continue to monitor his movements closely, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and protective measures to safeguard children from individuals like him.
