JOHN ANGELI FROM LONDON SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR GROOMING AND RAPE OF CHILD IN BEDFORDSHIRE

A man identified as John Angeli, who engaged in the heinous act of grooming a young girl before subjecting her to sexual assault, has been handed a life sentence in prison. The conviction followed a detailed trial at Luton Crown Court, where Angeli was found guilty on multiple serious charges. These included 12 counts such as rape, assault by penetration, and sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13. In addition to the convictions, Angeli, aged 60 and residing on Steeplestone Close in London, admitted to four other charges, which encompassed additional counts of rape, voyeurism, and possession of indecent images of a child.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Angeli had systematically manipulated the young girl, who was from Bedfordshire, over a period of several months. He used various methods to gain her trust, including giving her art supplies, money, sweets, and drinks, thereby creating an illusion of a caring relationship. The court heard how Angeli coerced her into believing they were in a genuine romantic relationship, despite her being under the age of 13. This manipulation was part of his grooming process, which aimed to desensitize her to his advances and make her more compliant.

Following this period of grooming, Angeli proceeded to sexually assault the girl, sometimes recording the abuse on camera.
